For me, at the end of a long-week, it’s so important to refuel and give myself a little self-care. Because if we can’t make time to give our bodies a little TLC, then how can we make time to care for others… Am I right?
So here, I thought I would map out a simple routine that I follow on Sunday evenings or even a holiday Monday. This personal time also includes taking a break from social media and other distractions.
Make Time to Stretch
A lot of us make time to workout daily, but we often forget to make time to stretch. Find a comfortable area and lay down on your yoga mat. For me, I’ve been doing this video on my balcony while the whether is still nice:) I just love this stretching routine- 15min Full Body Stretch-Daily routine for Flexibility, Mobility & Relaxation
Relax your Mind
Lay on a yoga mat and prop a pillow under your legs and head. I use ear pods for my meditation so I have no outside distractions. Close your eyes, get into a comfortable position and listen to this guided meditation: Let Go of Anxiety, Fear & Worries
Take a soak in the tub
Light your favourite scented candle, and relax in a lovely Epsom bath. Suggested playlist to help you unwind: Jazz Chill- Apple Music
Give your Hair a Break
After your bath & hair wash, wrap your hair in a Microfiber Hair Towel instead of blow drying it. This helps reduce hair breakage and helps it dry quicker. Here is a recommended brand: Microfiber Hair Towel
Make your Face Glow
Apply your go to facial cream or oil to face and neck. I use Elemis Pro-Collagen Rose Facial Oil and recently La Mer eye cream.
Face Rolling (10 Minutes)
Now that your facial skin is moisturized, we move onto face rolling. Apply roller from chin to cheek and gently massage the skin. I really love using the Rose Quartz Facial Roller.
Oil up your Body
Gently rub/massage and spray your full body with Aveeno Daily Moisturizing oil mist. Not only does it condition dry rough skin, it also smells lovely and is not expensive.
Detoxify your skin-Dry Body Brushing
Dry brushing means you DO NOT wet the brush. Start from the feet and work your way upward in long, fluid strokes on limbs. Benefits: Dry brushing unclogs pores in the exfoliation process. It also helps detoxify your skin by increasing blood circulation and promoting lymph flow/drainage. Here is a recommended Dry Brush to try.
Do something that brings you joy!
Whether it’s journaling, going for a walk, cooking a delicious meal, calling an old friend, reading a book or watching your fav Netflix series. You deserve it!
While this routine may not suit everyone, I thought it was worth sharing, in case you’re feeling stuck and not sure where to start when it comes to SELF-CARE Tips. Give it a try and let me know how it goes.
Get ready for your best week ahead!
